WHAT IS A HASHING ALGORITHM A SNEFRU

SNEFRU (from the English. Secure Hash Algorithm, NEw Fast Reliable Universal hashing algorithm, fast and reliable) is one of the cryptographic hashing algorithms, which was developed in 1990 by Professor Hans Dobermann (Hans Dobbertin). It was created as an improvement on the MD4 algorithm, but was later improved and replaced by the more secure versions SNEFRU-256 and SNEFRU-512.

SNEFRU is used to generate hash codes of an arbitrary data block of fixed length (256 or 512 bits). These hash codes are used in cryptography for data integrity, authentication, and other security tasks.

However, it is worth noting that SNEFRU is already considered obsolete and is not recommended for use in new systems and applications, as more secure hashing algorithms such as SHA-2 and SHA-3 are available.
