WHAT IS A HASHING ALGORITHM A RIPEMD256
RIPEMD256 (RACE Integrity Primitives Evaluation Message Digest 256) is a cryptographic hash function that is used to generate a compact fixed size checksum for an arbitrary block of data.
It was developed in 2004 as an improved version of the RIPEMD-160 algorithm. RIPEMD256 is part of the RIPEMD family of features developed by the European Network Research Institute (RIPE) in response to the need for Internet security.
RIPEMD256 generates a fixed length hash code of 256 bits (32 bytes) for inputs of arbitrary length. It is used in a variety of applications including digital signatures, authentication, password protection, and encrypted password storage.
