WHAT IS A HASHING ALGORITHM A MD2

The MD2 (Message Digest 2) hash function is one of a series of message hashing algorithms developed by RSA Data Security. MD2 generates a 128-bit hash code for an arbitrarily long input message.

MD2 uses a block algorithm with a block length of 128 bits and works on the basis of substitution and permutation operations on the bits of the input message.

MD2 is considered a deprecated and weak hash function, as its security has been subject to successful attacks, and more modern hash algorithms such as SHA-256 or SHA-3 are now recommended.
