WHAT IS A HASHING ALGORITHM A HAVAL192,4

HAVAL192,4 is a cryptographic hash function that is used to calculate the hash value of an arbitrary block of data up to 2^128 bits. It was developed by Yuliang Zheng, Josef Pieprzyk and Jennifer Seberry in 1992.

The HAVAL192,4 hash function uses a block algorithm that takes a fixed size data block (512 bits) as input and returns a hash value of 192 bits. The number 4 in the name means that the hashing process goes through 4 rounds.

Although HAVAL192.4 has been widely used in the past, it is currently deprecated due to its vulnerability to attacks. The current recommendation is to use more secure hash functions such as SHA-256 or SHA-3.
