Mariabackup Installation on Centos 8

Colleagues hello to all.

I'm starting a series of articles about a tool like Mariabackup. This tool is designed to create a physical backup of InnoDB, Aria and MyISAM database. One of its advantages is that you can create a so-called hot spare of the database and restore the database to any point in time.

Article content:

  1. Installing Mariabackup.
  2. Version comparisons Mariabackup with MariaDB database.
  3. Summary

1. Installing Mariabackup.

Installation is very simple. If you have already enabled the MariaDB repository, then you only need to run one command.

$. sudo yum install MariaDB-backup

mariadb_backup

We agree.

2. Mariabackup version comparisons with MariaDB database.

The version of the MariaDB database must necessarily match MariaDB-backup, otherwise there may be problems or backups will not be created.

mariadb_backup

As you can see in the screenshot, the database version corresponds to the version MariaDB-backup 10.8.3

3. Results.

In today's short article, we just installed the MariaDB-backup component, in the next article we will talk about how to create full backups.

Thank you all, I hope that my article helped you in some way.
